Ferry operation in Belgern saved: Spare part ensures relief!
Belgern. The ferry tenant René Arnold (53) had to improvise when a defective relay stopped the operation of the winds and ramps in the decisive rush hour. Suddenly the electric motor was under constant current, and the regular customers were informed about the WhatsApp group at lightning speed. "The willingness to help was enormous overall," says Arnold, who received numerous offers for support, but the required relay was not easy to find.
The episodes were dramatic: commuters had to switch to the two Elbbrücken in Torgau and Mühlberg to get from one bank to another. "Better now than next Saturday when we have numerous guests who want to go to Advent in the courtyards in Belgern," said Arnold. On Wednesday evening there were three cars on the ferry, and Arnold had to interrupt the circuit manually to avoid expensive engine damage. The risk was too great that the ferry could get serious problems because of the defect.
Replacement Relais faster than expected in Belgnen
The rescue came faster than expected! The urgently needed relay, originally announced for the late Tuesday afternoon, arrived on Monday afternoon. A specialist company installed the powerful spare part, and the ferry can now translate again at 5.30 a.m. from Tuesday morning. Arnold, who has been the tenant of the 30 meter long ferry since August 1st, breathes up: "The ferry is ready for the company!"
