Delitzsch: Animal shelter Elsa Düst in an electric caravan wheel through the city!

Delitzsch. A unique duo causes a sensation! Ingrid and Christian Bernhardt have found a clever means of transport to offer enough exercise to offer dog Elsa, which lives in the Delitzsch animal shelter. Your electric cargo bike is not only a practical means of transportation, but also a solution to the energy of the four-year-old Kangal bitch, who is used to running quickly and needs a lot of space to romp. The Bernhardts, who also have a Japanese Akita, regularly go on tour with Elsa - three times a week!

Elsa, which comes from an unexpected attitude and initially was very afraid of strangers, has settled in well in the shelter. "She was mostly alone and locked up," says the couple. But now she blooms! The cargo bike, especially converted for dogs, enables Elsa to run at a speed of up to 14 kilometers per hour, while Dieter Bernhardt keeps it on a leash. "The dog has strength like a small elephant. My wife couldn't keep it," he explains. So every excursion becomes an exciting adventure!

A look at the shelter: Many kittens are waiting for a home!

In the Delitzsch animal shelter, there are not only Elsa, but also a variety of cats that are waiting for a new home. Over 90 cats are currently in the home, including a remarkable number of small “stubble cats”. This unusually high birth rate in the autumn months surprises employees, otherwise most cats are born in the summer months. The shelter tirelessly works to find this little velvet paws a loving home.

While Elsa rages with her new friends outdoors, the animal shelter's employees hope that even the little cats will soon be able to start a happy life in a family.
