Nordsachsen. The Corona vaccinations are back-and the health department in Torgau has set the first dates for refresher vaccinations! In the middle of increasing Corona cases in the district, where around 60 new infections were recently reported, the urgency of these vaccinations is obvious. The constant vaccination commission (STIKO) recommends these refreshments, especially for endangered groups, to strengthen immunity against the virus.

The vaccinations take place in Torgau, Am Südring 17, on four selected dates in November and December. On November 27, December 3, December 9 and December 11, citizens can be vaccinated from 9 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. The Comirnaty vaccine from Biontech/Pfizer is used, which was specially developed for refresher vaccinations. In order to ensure a smooth process, a prior appointment is essential. This can be done online via the district's participation portal or by phone at Anja Viereckl at 03421/758-6303.

For the vaccination date, participants should bring their vaccination card, the health insurance chip card and, if possible, a completed anamnesis sheet. The refresher for people aged 60 and over is particularly important, residents of nursing facilities and people with previous illnesses. Employees in the healthcare system and close contact persons of endangered persons should also urgently strive for an appointment.

With these targeted measures, the health department in northern Saxony shows how important it is to renew protection against covid-19 in the coming cold season. Be ready, because the vaccinations are there and the time is pushing!
