Family after fire in emergency accommodation: How the fire changed their lives

Hartha. The night was unforgettable, but in the worst way: Peggy Linke is used to see from the traumatic pictures of the veriling fire raged in her home. "I see the blazing flames and feel the panic that I should save first," she says in a choked voice. Her family of five, together with her beloved parrots, had to flee, while the listed building opened in blazing flames. Since then, the family has lived in a cramped but warm, furnished accommodation on Flemmingener Strasse.

The mischief hit the family last Saturday when the roof structure caught fire and the fire brigade reported the highest willingness to alert. The Linke family was forced to leave everything behind - they could only take the bare essentials with them. "I could only save insulin, my cell phone and wallet while I was just in the pajamas outside," recalls Peggy. Fortunately, the animals were doing well, and the son Jeffrey saved dog Struppi at the last moment before the fire reached around.

Great helpfulness

The wave of solidarity is overwhelming. Knowns and neighbors reacted immediately and set up a donation account. Peggy admits that the cloakroom and shoes for your partner in 4xL and shoe size 47, as well as for your son in L/XL and shoe size 43/44 are the next big challenge.
