Döbeln soon shines in the hidden object: artistic project takes shape!
in the city of Döbeln, which was able to win the "Off in the middle" competition almost a year ago, a fascinating project is now being promoted. This competition aims to promote urban development through creative ideas. The Döbelner contribution included the redesign of the silent city tour into a multilingual app, the extension of the horse's railway to Lutherplatz and the conversion of a substation to an information point. Another important component was an hidden object that is supposed to serve as a marketing tool.
In a current message, Thomas Mettcher mentioned that the hidden object should be completed this year. He stated that the schedule was delayed due to health difficulties. The order for the hidden object was awarded to the artist Bianka Behrami, who has already worked for various projects in the past, among others for a real estate office in Switzerland and the Leipzig amusement park Belantis.
Bianka Behrami described the creation of such a large hidden object as her dream. She is now on the home straight and explains: "I am currently drawing the last windows, the houses are ready." The presentation will include the Mulden island and the city center of Döbeln, with important stations of the city tour, such as the town hall and the boot fountain, will be visible in the picture.
The artist attaches great importance to detailed fidelity and has precisely drawn the windows, doors and gables of the individual buildings. In order to ensure the accuracy, she used drone shots and information from Google Maps and the city archive. Behrami added that she had managed to integrate her own style into the project, which gives the hidden object a special touch.
Multiple possible uses of the hidden object
The hidden object will not only show colorful scenes from Döbelner life, such as a market scene or playgrounds, but a new toilet house is also shown at the Niedermarkt. Behrami explained that the proportions of the figures have to be designed differently compared to the buildings in hidden objects in order to preserve the clarity.
The artist is flexible in her work and uses both analog and digital techniques. In this project, she chose digital creation, as this makes it easier to edit and change details. Some of their line drawings and distinctive representations were already included in the competition contribution.
Thomas Mettcher emphasized the versatile possible uses of a hidden object in marketing, including merchandising products, tourist applications, puzzles for children or painting books. In addition, Behrami will make two other illustrations for the city - the giant boots and the horse's trunk - which can also be used in the city.
