Döbeln. A spectacular event is imminent: The Döbelner Christmas Market, now in the year of its 160th edition, will be at the Lower Market from December 13th to 15th take place! This year, visitors can expect a magical transformation with 160 radiant Herrnhuter stars that will illuminate the place.

The cultural office under the direction of Christiane Böttger plans great: a "star gravity"! The trees along the Rondell are decorated with a total of 160 stars, which measure 13 centimeters in diameter. "The lighting effect will be absolutely unique!", Enthuses Grit Neumann, the head of the municipal advertising ring. To protect the illuminated stars from theft, they are placed high in the branches.

A night full of lights!

A "star sponsorship" can be borne for the costs of 20 euros per star. Support is already coming: The optician chain Fielmann donated 500 euros and Mayor Sven Liebhauser also reaches into the wallet. "Every contribution counts to make the Christmas market more comfortable," he emphasizes.

But that's not all! A festive pyramid is set up directly at the boot fountain, a children's carousel is doing its rounds, and there is not only a large Christmas tree at the Niedermarkt, but also a small one of six to seven meters. Fire shells and cozy seating provide a special atmosphere.

Unique experiences in Döbeln!

Another highlight is the lively Christmas crib with real sheep and goats! Real reindeer will also provide big eyes with the little visitors, which will pull a sled once a day. "We are the only Christmas market in the region with reindeer!"

Although the Döbelner Christmas market is the main focus, there are also smaller markets and a winter magic event in the districts. All information is bundled in a brochure so that the festival in Döbeln becomes an unforgettable experience for everyone!
