Master roofer Weimert: A passionate craft in Döbeln
Döbeln. Holger Weimert, a committed roofing master, celebrated its ten-year self-employed on October 3. His roots in this profession are enough, since his great -grandfather, grandfather and father were already working in the roofing industry. While Weimert was initially not enthusiastic about this profession, he discovered his passion over the years and today describes himself as "with passion". After many years in a large company, he decided to take things into his own hands and to found his own company. "My hand for my product," he explains what his motivation illustrates behind this step.
in today's industry, Weimert has found its niche. It mainly focuses on smaller orders such as repairs of gutters and roof surface cleaning, which are often unattractive for larger companies. "I have several property managers that regularly give me orders and everyone is satisfied," he adds. This strategic orientation enables him to stay in the familiar circle of Döbeln and not to stop employees; Instead, he copes with good technology himself.
The challenge for young master
Holger Weimert has been working in the roofing industry for almost 45 years. He observes two major problems: a dramatic lack of young people and growing bureaucratic hurdles. "The newcomers often move to other professions and the companies hardly find any successors," he says. Many companies have to close when the bosses retire. He also sees that young masters who want to start their own company can do this difficult to do this without financial support or sufficient staff.
The bureaucracy imposed by the legislator also makes small craft businesses difficult. Weimert reports that he has to spend half a day for bureaucratic tasks every week. Before each deployment, approvals must be obtained, which entails different periods of time and costs for each city administrative office. "It is getting more and more complicated. The customer does not notice that, he just wants to see the result of the work," complains about the over -regulation, which puts a strain on the small craftsmanship and expensive the orders.
bureaucracy as a hurdle
Another major topic is imminent for invoicing: From next year, invoices must be issued electronically. "I often have to do with older customers who do not use internet. How should I use that?", Weimert points out. These challenges are lined up in an already shaped landscape of changes, because even in his role in the master examination committee, he has the feeling that the qualities and standards have dropped among apprentices. "Often the test subjects have to learn fabric that they should have learned at school," he explains and refers to the general decrease in specialist knowledge.
Nevertheless, Weimert also registers positive developments. In recent times, many property management has trusted him enough to provide him with orders without previous offers, which makes life easier for him. "I am very happy and show that customers are satisfied with my work," he concludes with a satisfied smile.
