Reformation day: Saxony celebrates with services and music in faith!
This Thursday, millions of protestants celebrate the Reformation Day worldwide, and the Evangelical State Church of Saxony (EVLKS) is no exception! Festival services, concerts and happy festivals are on the program. The focus of the celebrations is the state bishop Tobias Bilz, who will traditionally preach in Meißen at 10 a.m. His call? People should renew and strengthen their relationships with each other!
"Whoever gives an advance of trust in this way lives in the spirit of the Reformation," explains Bilz. A simple hello or a friendly word can work wonders! It is about breaking the silence and creating new connections. These small gestures are not only everyday courtities, but also an expression of the Reformation faith that is based on trust and community.
musical highlights and anniversaries
but that's not all! Hundreds of Protestant parishes in Saxony celebrate the day with prayers, festive services and musical performances. A very special service takes place in the St. Petrikirche Freiberg, where Martin Luther's reformation ideas are the focus at 10 a.m. In addition, the year is celebrated a very special anniversary: "500 years of the Evangelical Singing Book". One more reason to sing happily and celebrate the community!
