This Thursday, the Reformation Day, celebrate millions of Protestants worldwide, and the Evangelical State Church of Saxony (EVLKS) is no exception! Services, festivals and concerts are on the program, while State Bishop Tobias Bilz traditionally sermon in Meißen in the cathedral. His urgent appeal: people have to grasp again - both in God and together!
bilz emphasizes that belief in God plays a crucial role in order to take on responsibility for our actions. At a time when many only think of themselves, he warns: "People are then excluded, people are excluded." The bishop asks to break through silence and greet each other in order to create new connections. A simple friendly word can be the beginning to a new relationship - in the spirit of the reformation teaching!
musical celebrations and anniversaries
hundreds of Protestant communities in Saxony celebrate the day with festive services accompanied by choirs, crane and brass. A special highlight was the musical service in the St. Petrikirche Freiberg, where not only Martin Luther's thoughts of the Reformation were recognized, but also celebrated the anniversary of "500 years of Evangelical Singing Book". A day full of singing and community that makes the hearts of the believers beat faster!
