Döbeln. The construction is booming again! The tender for the shell of the new primary school in Döbeln Ost has attracted 20 companies - a sign of lively competition in the industry. And the episode? The prices are dramatic! The cheapest offer comes from the renowned company Swietelsky from Meißen and is an incredible 1.6 million euros, far below the originally calculated costs of 2.5 million euros. A real bargain price!

The city council will be assigned the order on Thursday, and the shell should be available by June 2026. The anticipation for the move of the primary school in 2027 is increasing! Mayor Sven Liebhauser (CDU) is happy about the development, but warns of excessive euphoria. "The prices normalize again. This is gratifying," he emphasizes, but the uncertainty remains. The construction costs for the entire project have already increased from 14.6 million euros to 17.5 million euros. However, a grant of eight million euros from the Free State of Saxony ensures a positive turn.

The construction work is already in full swing! Since spring, he has been dug on the former sports field, where archaeologists have discovered traces from the Neolithic Age. By the end of November, supply and disposal lines will be installed and a storage space channel will be installed, which ensures security for heavy rain. The plans provide for a modern two -storey building for primary school, and the after -school care also remains integrated. The city also has big plans for a new cafeteria and a sports hall that will continue to be used.

Another step into the future: The school of learning disabilities should be shifted to Döbeln Ost, with the aim of tearing down the old primary school building and replacing it with a new building. The city administration has great visions for the formation of the future - and the first steps are already taken!
