New momentum in Leipzig: Local mayor elected - citizens shape with!

The Leipzig local councils have reorganized and the choice of local mayors for the term 2024 to 2029 has now been completed! In an exciting process, new faces were chosen in three out of 14 districts: Markus Heidrich in Burghausen, Sebastian Jahn in Engelsdorf and Stefan Artmann in Wieditzsch. The proven local mayors remained in office in the remaining local councils.

The local councils are the decisive link between the citizens and the city administration. They take care of local topics and concerns that directly influence life in the villages. Every month, the councils meet in public sessions, where every citizen is cordially invited to contribute their concerns and actively participate in the design of their neighborhood.
