National player Adigo: pride and anticipation at 1. FC Lok!
An exciting chapter for 1. FC Lok Leipzig! Wing player Ryan Adigo was nominated for the internationals of the Beninian national team. "We are very happy about the nomination for Ryan. He has earned this through hard work and good performance. We at 1. FC Lok are proud to have a national player in our ranks again," cheered sports director Toni Wachsmuth. Adigo himself is full of anticipation: "The first time I was a bit nervous, now I just want to enjoy it, have fun, pick up everything. I am happy to see the boys again," he said at the press conference on November 6th.
a new star in the football sky
The 23-year-old Adigo, who switched from Phönix Lübeck to 1. FC Lok in 2023, has already stood on the pitch in all 16 competitive games this season. His impressive achievements brought him the deserved nomination. Gernot Rohr, who has headed the Beninian national team's fortunes since March 2023, is responsible for this good news. The 71-year-old is no stranger to Leipzig-Probstheida and has a moving career behind him who, among other things, led him as a national coach to Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Niger and Gabon.
Rohr, who played at Girondin's Bordeaux during his active time, has a special connection to Lok Leipzig. He was on the pitch when the French turned off locomotives in 1987 in the semi -finals of the Cup winner's European Cup. Today he is friends with locomotive legend Wolfgang Altmann and brings his experience to the Beninian national team. Adigo now has the chance to prove itself on an international parquet and to represent the colors of his country.
