Labor market in the Erzgebirge group: Less unemployed, but short -time work is increasing!
Annaberg-Buchholz, Deutschland - The employment agency Annaberg-Buchholz has released alarming news for the Erzgebirge district! While the unemployment figures in October dropped slightly, there is a worrying increase in short -time work. With a current unemployment rate of 5.1 percent, which rose of 4.9 percent compared to the previous year, the signs are on storm!
But that's not all! The head of the employment agency, Cordula Hartrampf-Hirschberg, warns: "The economic situation remains uneasy, especially in the processing business!" Companies are unsettled and already withdraw job offers. Over 300 new jobs were reported in October, but uncertainty hovers over the job market like a sword of Damocles.
short -time work on the advance!
Short -time work has increased dramatically in the past few weeks! Almost 1,000 employees in 23 companies are affected, an increase of 30 percent compared to the previous month. "Companies show an increasing need for advisory work," said Hartrampf-Hirschberg. The situation is tense and the agency is ready to offer support.
A total of 8,526 people in the Erzgebirge district are currently without a job, 82 less than in the previous month, but 321 more than in the previous year. Most of the vacancies come from the personnel service sector, followed by the processing business and the healthcare system. While the labor market situation still appears robust, the region urgently needs to react to the growing challenges!
