Rapist of Dresden: Finally behind bars after two years of fear!

A shocking case involving serious crimes against women caused a stir in Dresden. The 40-year-old Afghan Gulagha A. exploited the vulnerability of two women by luring them into a well-disguised trap and raping them. Now he has to face the consequences of his actions and be behind bars.

At the beginning of December 2023, Gulagha A. was arrested after a Dutch woman, 32 years old and homeless at the time, accused him of rape. She had accepted the offer to relax in Gulagha A.'s apartment in Dresden Gorbitz, which turned out to be a fatal mistake. Despite her clear rejection, he raped her. However, his arrest did not result in the expected incarceration, despite clear DNA evidence linking him to another victim.

Victims were specifically targeted

A year earlier, on November 30, 2022, Gulagha A. attacked a social worker, referred to here as Verena K.. When she was very drunk and therefore particularly vulnerable, the perpetrator shamelessly took advantage of the opportunity. The 35-year-old desperately repeated “No, no” several times, but she was unable to defend herself. He then left her traumatized and alone.

The judge Joachim Kubista made Gulagha A. clearly aware of the seriousness of his crime and sentenced him to four years in prison. “It looks as if you were deliberately on the move to find women who would not be able to offer you serious resistance,” said the presiding judge.

According to information from m.bild.de Gulagha A. has lived in Germany since 2020. After entering the country with his wife and three children, his asylum application was rejected. As of 2022 he lived separately from his family. So far he has not been criminally charged. During the trial he remained silent about the allegations until the arrest warrant was finally issued to him. At that moment he burst into tears.
