An der Winde, which motorizes the sliding umbrellas in the air, sits 84-year-old Peter Reichelt. The former steam locomotive guide, who himself flew for 25 years, ensures that the newcomers get up safely. With a specially built, TÜV-certified device, he pulls the pilots up in an impressive towing process. "One goes up every five minutes," explains Reichelt, while the commands are having the radio. An exciting spectacle that captivates the spectators!

The students not only have to learn the right start and control of the screen, but also complex maneuvers like "putting on" ears. "Everyone has to be able to go down quickly," emphasizes flight instructor Gunter Mühle. The training is intensive: 40 high flights are required to be approved for practical testing. The anticipation for the upcoming exams in Turkey is noticeable while the students refine their skills.

Carla von Pappenheim, who shares the hobby with her boyfriend, also enjoys every second in the air. "It is a great feeling to feel freedom and just switch off," she adds.
