Residents defend themselves: exhaust gases and noise torture the Albertstadt!
In the vicinity of the customs court in the Albertstadt, residents have submitted a petition with 117 signatures that are opposed to the current suitability of the customs court. The petition indicates the critical traffic conditions because truck drivers have to leave the highway and drive through tight curves to park on the roadside, without sanitary facilities or shopping nearby. The environmental pollution from exhaust gases and noise are described as unbearable, especially in the winter months when the truck engines run overnight. In addition, the expansion of the Stauffenbergallee is added, which exacerbates the existing traffic problems.
residents require a short -term installation of the customs court to a location that is closer to the highway. Mayor Dirk Hilbert (FDP) will make a statement on the petition, and the committee for petitions and citizen participation will be advised. The city administration has been informed about the problem for many years and has checked various alternatives for a new customs farm. An area on Washingtonstrasse, near the Dresden-Neustadt motorway junction, is the favorite variant. In order to be able to set up the new Zollhof, however, a development plan must be drawn up.
critics warn of relocated problems
The planned relocation of the customs court also causes criticism, as fears are expressed that the existing problems are only shifted and that truck drivers could switch to new residential areas. Veit Böhm, spokesman for traffic policy, demands 100 truck parking spaces at the new location to make the development plan approved. He warns that truck traffic will be moved from Stauffenbergallee to other districts and that problems such as traffic jams from trucks could be re-manifested to the surrounding residential areas. The city administration has also explained that truck drivers could use the park-& Ride-Ride-Sparkplatz in Kaditz, but this is considered inadequate.
The traffic planner examination does not do justice to the growing truck use frequency and customs clearance, especially in view of the expected increases in customs traffic, which are caused by factors such as improved qualifications and normalization of trade towards Eastern Europe. The spokesman for urban development and construction, Mario Schmidt, also questions the urban parking lot strategy, since the park-& Ride parking lot should not be sacrificed for truck parking spaces. In addition, problems are expected by wildly parked and holding trucks on Kötzschenbroder Strasse, along Washingtonstrasse and in adjacent residential areas.
