Departure to the downtown tangent: It starts a year later!

A year after the city council's decision to the new inner city tangent in Zwickau, we finally start! This 1.4 kilometer -long road is to connect Reichenbacher Straße with Planitzer Straße and was planned as an urgently needed traffic artery. The excitement increases, because the decision is due at the meeting of the building committee on November 4: an engineering office from Chemnitz is commissioned and the fee of almost 150,000 euros is released!

The Chemnitz engineers are the only ones who apply for this important order. But the hope for immediate construction work is limited: construction could begin in 2028 at the earliest. This is not only a question of planning and regulations, but also of patience, while the city is waiting for the implementation. The Tangente should particularly free Humboldtstrasse from the traffic loads and thus make the city center more attractive - one step in the right direction!
