Traffic transition in Laubusch: New routes for trucks cause excitement!

in Laubusch, a city in the Bautzen district, will have significant changes in the traffic flow in the coming days. According to a report by sächsische.de a street exchange between the city of Lauta and the district of Bautzen in Power. The Teichstraße is downgraded from a district road to the municipal road and thus falls into the responsibility of the city of Lauta. In return, the Grube Erika-Straße is upgraded to the district road and thus comes under the supervision of the district.

A central element of the transport adjustments is the main street between the Schwarzkollm train station and the Teichstraße junction, which has been closed to truck traffic since 2005. This block was made due to complaints about noise, dust and shocks. As a result, truck traffic was redirected to the B96 and Grube Erika-Straße. Mayor Frank Lehmann also closed Grube-Erika-Straße in 2019 to avoid damage. With the new regulations, truck traffic can now return to the main street, but initially only towards Kortizmühle.

new regulation and closures

The agreement on the street exchange was signed on December 27th in the town hall of Lauta. The adaptation of the signage is expected to be planned for the coming week. The Grube Erika-Straße can already be used by truck, while Teichstrasse remains closed. The latter also becomes a dead end and part of a Tempo 30 zone. The main street remains closed in both directions for truck traffic.

The city, the district and the State Office for Road Construction and Transport are currently in discussions about the practical implementation of the changes. The mayor expressed hope that the work and signage could be completed in one to two weeks in order to make the changed traffic flows smoothly.
