Strombergwichtel daycare center in Weißenberg: Minimum campaign for new play equipment!
In the daycare center "Strombergwichtel" in Weißenberg, you urgently search for support. The children there wanted new play equipment because the current possibilities are severely restricted. The relevant outdoor area only consists of a sandpit and a small plastic slide, which also does not correspond to the safety standards. "We found that the slide does not even correspond to the norm," says the deputy director Maria Gnieser.
The daycare manager Juliane Schmidt, together with Gnieser, has decided to launch a fundraiser for the “99 Funken” campaign, which is funded by the Kreissparkasse Bautzen in cooperation with Secupay AG. The first goal is 8,500 euros. This sum is to be used for a new wooden movement route and a double throat rod that should be available to the crib children.
large goals for the equipment
The local team is ambitious: the daycare center strives to collect a total of 15,000 euros. With this amount, a double swing could also be purchased that would be useful for the larger children. The new play equipment is produced by Oliver Nitschke, better known as "the playground builder", which is based in Weißenberg.
donations of 5 to 100 euros can be quickly and easily transferred to the specified donation account. "The Sparkasse doubles the incoming donations up to an amount of 4,250 euros," explains Gnieser. If you want to donate but consider an amount of over 100 euros, you should contact the daycare team in advance. However, there is an important condition: "If we do not reach the minimum of 8,500 euros, we cannot use the donations and our project could fail," she adds.
In order to make the fundraiser successfully, the teachers and the children do everything they can to attract attention. They organized an information event, distributed flyers and produced a video that can be found on the homepage of "99 Funken". You will also receive support from the association "We for Children" from Weißenberg, which accompanies you at the initiative.
"We are optimistic that we will achieve the goal," says Juliane Schmidt determined. "The children need more movement. The new playground would not only offer entertainment, but also help them to be active in the fresh air and to train their skill." 80 children aged one to seven years are currently being looked after in the “Strombergwichtel” daycare center.
The fundraising campaign runs until November 13, 2024. If you want to support the children, you can easily donate:
- 99 spark crowdfunding
- iban: DE64 3005 0000 7060 5064 12

Hope is great that new devices will soon be on the playground in order to offer the children a more rich gaming experience. Further information about the current state of the campaign and the possibilities for support can be found at this link.
