New commander in Saxony-Anhalt: Colonel Alme takes command!

A new star in the Heaven of the Bundeswehr! Colonel Thorsten Alme takes command of the state command Saxony-Anhalt. The ceremonial change took place in the State Chancellery in Magdeburg, where Prime Minister Reiner Haseloff (CDU) praised the important role of the Bundeswehr in crisis times. Colonel Alme, who started working at the Panzerbattalon 23 in Braunschweig in 1986, has an abundance of experience. "I am looking forward to my time as a commander of the state command and will devote myself to my new tasks here in Saxony-Anhalt with full strength," said Alme full of enthusiasm.

Farewell to Bernd Albers

Colonel Bernd Albers, who has held command since January 28, 2021, withdraws after more than three years. During his tenure, he was faced with numerous challenges, including the Corona pandemic, the Russian war of attack on Ukraine and various natural disasters.
