Magdeburg, Deutschland - An exciting weekend for the U19 of the 1. FC Magdeburg! In a gripping duel in the DFB youth league, the Magdeburger defeated FC St. Pauli 5: 3 and showed an impressive performance on home soil. Already in the fourth minute, Marlon Siebert made the first cheer when he scored the 1-0. But the joy did not last long, because only five minutes later Ediz equalized for the guests. However, the Magdeburgers were not put off and went through two more goals from Kingsley Madumere and Joonas Frenzel with 3-2 in the half -time break.

In the second half, the boys from head coach Daniel Wölfel demonstrated their defensive strength and gave less chances for the opponent. Frenzel increased only five minutes after the restart to 4: 2, followed by another goal from Madumere, who decided the game 5-2. Even if the team had to accept a slightly negligent third goal, the victory was never in danger. Wölfel praised his players for their tireless efforts, despite personal difficulties: "The boys just wanted the victory more, so they gave everything."
