Wolfsburg starts drug commission: fight against Nordkopf burning point!
Wolfsburg. The city of Wolfsburg has explained the fight against drug crime! With a new drug commission, the city wants to specifically act against focal points such as the Nordkopf in Porschestrasse and tackle the drug problem.
In recent years, the drug scene in Wolfsburg, once strongly at Rathausplatz, has shifted to new hotspots. Now the time for drastic measures has come! The Social and Health Committee has decided to create a drug commission to develop a city-wide strategy to combat the drug problem. Iris Bothe, Head of Youth, Education, Integration and Social Affairs, emphasizes: "We have to face reality and prepare our city for the upcoming challenges."
Goals of the drug commission
The drug commission will initially deal with a comprehensive inventory of drug scenes in Wolfsburg. The aim is to evaluate existing measures and develop suitable approaches in order to act both preventively and intervene. Andreas Bauer, department for civil services, emphasizes: "With the reactivation of the drug commission, we rely on a holistic approach, prevention, education and support for those affected."
The Commission is headed by members of the city administration and includes representatives of the police, youth and drug advice and the Ostfalia University. Together they want to develop sustainable solutions for Wolfsburg and closely observe the effects of cannabis approval. The organizational support is guaranteed by the responsible departments of the city. Wolfsburg is determined to combat drug crime and make the city safer!
