On Sunday, November 17, 2024, the city of Osterode am Harz will become the scene of moving memorial events! The victim of war and tyranny from all nations is commemorated on this Memorial Day. The core city and the surrounding towns are preparing for numerous events that keep the memory of these tragic events alive.

Mayor Jens Augat calls all citizens to participate in the commemorative celebrations. "This day of commemoration is a symbol of hope of reconciliation among people and peoples and at the same time an obligation to learn from the past and actively stand up for peace," explains Augat. The events not only offer a space for grief, but also for reflection and exchange about peace and reconciliation.
