Revolution in emergency medicine: Telenot doctor starts in Halle (Saale)!
in Halle (Saale), a city with around 560,000 inhabitants, a groundbreaking project was recently launched to improve emergency medical care. The city of Halle, the Saalekreis and the district of Mansfeld-Südharz have signed a special purpose agreement that provides for the joint operation of a telenotarge service. The test phase started on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, and marked a significant step in the medical care of the region.
The telenotarz service aims to significantly improve the emergency medical care by using modern technology to ensure faster and more efficient help in emergencies. It is supported by a network of various clinics, including the BG Clinic Bergmannstrost, the University Hospital Halle and the St. Elisabeth and St. Barbara hospital. This cooperation not only promises higher accessibility, but also optimized treatment in critical situations.
First steps in the test phase
A provisional operating time is planned for the operation of the telenot doctor from Monday to Friday between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. The central coordination takes place in the rescue control center "An der Feuerwache" in Halle-Neustadt. Here, 21 qualified doctors from six different clinics will act as telenotians. These experts must have extensive operational experience and special qualifications in order to meet the high standards of medical care.
The health insurance company takes over the financing of the new system, which means that the patients do not have to bear any additional costs. The use of modern telemedicine could help save valuable time and to significantly improve treatment in critical situations. The project is also accompanied by the university medicine of the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, which will evaluate the research results and the effectiveness of the telenotarz service.
The introduction of the telenotarz service could not only shorten the response times in emergencies, but also help patients be cared for faster in specialized hospitals. Those responsible are optimistic that this initiative can serve not only medical care in the Halle region, but also as a model for other regions in Germany.
The reactions to the project are mostly positive, since many experts in medicine believe in the advantages that such systems can bring with them. For more information about this exciting development in emergency medicine, interested readers can The article on www.rettungsdienst.de read.
