Christmas magic in Zeitz: School choir conquers Prague with a new concept!

in Zeitz, the anticipation for Christmas is increasing! The Siblingscholl-Gymnasium's top-level choir (OSC) is ready to conquer the stage and went under the wing of the talented musical actress Linda Jesse. The young artist traveled from Freiburg in Breisgau to give the students professional tips for their upcoming appearances. "Simply standing and singing? That's a thing of the past!" Explains choir director Till Malte Mossner.

The students are eager to practice a spectacular choreography for their concerts in the contemplative Christmas season. "We are planning a variety of appearances, including at the 32nd Advent & Christmas Choral Festival in Prague," reveals Mossner. Preparations are in full swing, and every moment counts, because the high school students will not only shape the musical opening of the Prague Christmas market, but also compete in an international competition!

choir rehearsals with a new swing

In rehearsals, the traditional Christmas song "Silent Night" is not only sung, but also accompanied with expressive movement. "Grab the stars!", Linda Jesse asks the students and shows them how to bring music to life with gestures. "This is a completely new approach," says 19-year-old Lena Reinsberger, who has been in the choir since the 6th grade. They always motivate their joy in singing and the community in the choir to come to Zeitz.

The rehearsals take place every Tuesday from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the auditorium, and the fun is guaranteed! "I have a lot of fun singing in the choir," adds Finn-Marvin Gipp, a committed twelfth grader. Magnus Hahn also emphasizes how important these experiences are for personal growth: "Singing gives you more self -confidence and learn to stand on stage!"
