Loading points for electric cars in Saxony-Anhalt: big differences discovered!
In Saxony-Anhalt there is a dramatic imbalance for loading points for electric cars-a real shock for electric car drivers! While only a measly 55 and 56 charging points are available in Jerichower Land and Wittenberg, the drivers can look forward to 218 and 216 charging points in the Burgenland district and in the Harz district. The big cities like Magdeburg and Halle have even more - 243 and 248 charging points - but here the number of electric cars is far higher, as the Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) emphasizes.
The distribution of the charging infrastructure is anything but fair! The ratio of electric cars to loading points is best in Stendal and Mansfeld-Südharz, while Jerichower Land and Wittenberg are by far the worst values. However, Saxony-Anhalt is impressive in the federal comparison and occupies fifth place in the ranking of the VDA with regard to the ratio of electric cars to charging points.
funding for the expansion of the charging infrastructure
The Ministry of Infrastructure in Saxony-Anhalt has already invested an impressive 4.7 million euros in the expansion of the charging infrastructure. For this year, funding applications of 1.5 million euros are planned, and at least 0.2 million euros for the coming year. But the question remains: is that enough to compensate for the serious differences between the counties?
The Federal Network Agency reports that there are now over 140,000 public charging points in Germany. This means that the electric vehicles now have to argue less about a loading place than a year ago, according to VDA. But while the infrastructure is growing, inequality in Saxony-Anhalt remains a hot topic that urgently needs to be tackled!
