The patient transport cars are designed to react quickly and efficiently in the event of a mass attack. Their main task is to safely transport patients who have already been medically cared for. In order to meet this high claim, the KTW are equipped with a variety of medical aids. This includes, among other things, two hydraulic wearing that are back -friendly, a defibrillator and a foldable chair for the seated transport of patients. These equipment features are intended to ensure that the rescue workers can work under optimal conditions.

The investment in one of these ambulance is around 174,000 euros, whereby the costs take into account the necessary radio technology for effective communication in use. It is planned that further KTW will be procured in 2026 to further strengthen the operational capacity in disaster protection.

"I hope that the new vehicles do not have to be used often, but in the event of an emergency they are essential," added Zieschang with a focus on how important it is to be well prepared. Their explanations illustrate the state government's commitment to equip the emergency services as best as possible and thus guarantee the health and security of the population.
