The Saarbrücken public prosecutor has now launched massive investigations against alleged fraudsters who were active in 180 former test centers. The damage caused by excessive accounts could amount to a shocking double -digit million amount!

A large-scale raid was carried out on Tuesday, in which twelve objects, including living and business premises, were searched in the districts of Neunkirchen, St. Wendel and Saarlouis. A total of ten suspects are the focus of 55 test centers nationwide. The Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KV) paid out incredible eleven million euros to these operators! However, the public prosecutor has found that the tests actually carried out are far below the billed numbers - the alleged damage could only move in the six -digit range.

The background of the scandal

The scandal was started through an anonymous criminal complaint that pointed out irregularities in the settlement. There were considerable discrepancies between the reported tests at the health offices and the billed figures at the KV. Around 50 civil servants were involved in the raid and secured extensive data and assets to compensate for the possible damage.

In another case in St. Ingbert, an operator of two test centers is about to conclude criminal proceedings. He is said to have received almost a million euros too much of the KV within a few months. Despite his confession, the 24-year-old threatens a prison sentence of about four and a half years. The investigation continues and the clarification of these fraud cases is top priority!
