Zweibrücken on the water: Skater paradise becomes a reality for 2.7 million euros!
In the picturesque Zweibrücken, exciting development has attracted public attention. Mayor Marold Wosnitza, who has been responsible since his election in October 2018, is passionate about the upgrading of the city. One of his large projects is the so -called “City of the Water” at the EXE, which also includes a skate system in addition to an attractive redesign.
The way to implement this project was anything but easy. Originally, the first funding application had failed in 2018, since other priorities in the city administration were set at that time. As Wosnitza himself explained, the bathrooms had priority at the time, which understandably led to a delay. However, the turnaround came in 2020 when the city finally secured the urgently needed funds from the federal budget.
funding secure the future
Thanks to the positive decision from Berlin, the city can now use the generous support of around 90 percent of the estimated costs of around 2.7 million euros. The decisive step to put the vision of Wosnitza into practice was taken. And that is not only the city administration, but also the citizens of Zweibrücken, who can look forward to the upcoming changes. The investment in the skate complex and the design of the "City on the Water" shows how the focus is on public space, which also leads to a higher quality of life for the residents. This project not only creates a leisure offer, but also a social meeting point that is intended to strengthen the sense of community.
