On Saturday, November 30th, at 3 p.m., the legendary work "The Great Dictator" by Charlie Chaplin will be performed in the Lindentheater, Lindenstraße 16. This film from 1940 is not only a masterpiece of film art, but also a sharp satire on Adolf Hitler and National Socialism. Chaplin shines in the double role as a megalomaniac dictator Anton Hynkel and as a Jewish hairdresser in the ghetto. With his unique talent, Chaplin studied the gestures and Hitler's language documents from WDERSHOUCHSTUREN to show the absurdity of dictatorial.
The film is famous for its urgent appeal to humanity to work for democracy, peace and humanity. This message is more relevant today than ever and is supported by the Frechen Alliance for Democracy and Diversity as part of the event. After the film screening, the spectators can expect an exciting discussion round with Manuel Busch, Michel Diercks from Hab8cht e. V. and Yvonne Rogoll from "School without racism - school with courage". Live music is also offered by Peter Worms and leaf gold that accompany the event musically.
