Carnival in Trier: Fools celebrate the start of the fifth season!

The fifth season is parallel and the fools in the Trier region are ready for the biggest celebration of the year! On November 11th, the Trier Kornmarkt will be the scene of the carnival opening, organized by the Trier Carnival (ATK) working group. From 10:30 a.m., the celebrants can get into the mood with rousing music before the official program begins at 11:11 a.m. Here the legendary "Wuppdus" - a scepter with a fool's figure - is solemnly awakened and the foolish laws are read out. The new couple of princes, Christine II and Stephan I of Eurania, will also be presented!

Not only in Trier is celebrated! In Gerolstein, the fools gather at 11:11 a.m. on the Brunnenplatz, where the new triumvirate of the Gerolsteiner Burgnars is presented. With delicious grated cakes, the furniture ensures the physical well -being of the celebrating. In Bernkastel-Kues, the carnival season begins in the afternoon when garden, carnival board and prince couples pull through the streets. At 4:11 p.m. the official proclamation of the new prince couples on Karlsbader Platz.

The celebrations continue in the region, with special anniversaries in Traben-Trarbach and Zemmer. The Carnival Association Zemmer celebrates its “5 × 11-year” anniversary on November 15th on November 15, while Traben-Trarbach celebrates its 44th anniversary of the club with the proclamation of the prince couples on November 16. The KG Rot Weiss Ehrang will also crown its prince couple on November 16 in the newly renovated community center.
