A dance café that opens hearts and brings back joy in life! In Speyer, the committed Alexandra has launched a unique project that not only makes seniors dance, but also makes them smile. Since May 2024, the place has been transformed into a pulsating dance floor where waltzes, twists and rock 'n' roll fill the air. The idea arose from Alexandra's own story, which is characterized by music and dance. Her mother found solace in dancing despite difficult times, and now Alexandra is passing on that joy.

The response was overwhelming! At the first event, over 80 seniors who loved dancing came and immediately asked about the next date. “I come here because it gives me a lot of strength and a lot of energy,” says one participant enthusiastically. The dance café is more than just a place to dance - it is a meeting place where coffee and cake are enjoyed, stories are told and new friendships are formed. The 90-year-old Ottilie, who had almost given up after the loss of her life partner, finds new energy and joy of life here.

Dancing connects generations

The dance café has not only rekindled the passion for dancing, but also written new love stories. Gerlinde, who was devastated after a bereavement, not only found joy in dancing again, but also a new partner. She attends the meetings with Karl-Heinz and feels “reborn.” Alexandra beams with joy at the success of her project: “It just makes sense to hear what people want.” The dance café is a monthly highlight that offers joy of life and community for everyone!
