Speyer, the city of culture, receives an impressive money blessing of around 543,000 euros! This funding comes from the municipal investment program 3.0 from the state and federal government and is intended for the urgently needed renovation of the renowned cultural center "Old City Hall". Already in 2016, 1.1 million euros flowed into this important project, which not only houses the children's and youth theater, but also offers a stage for numerous events. "With the granted funding, we support the city in maintaining this important place of social and cultural coexistence in the long term and making it accessible to even more people," explains the Rhineland-Palatinate Interior Minister Michael Ebling. These funds are specially intended to cover 90 percent of the additional costs for energy -based renovation, fire protection upgrading and the barrier -free development of the cultural center. The federal government takes over 80 percent of the funding, while the country contributes another ten percent.

This investment is not just a financial subsidy, but a clear commitment to promoting culture in Speyer. The “old city hall” is therefore not only modernized, but also prepared for the future in order to enable even more people to participate in cultural events.
