Generational association: trainees bring Christmas joy to the senior house!

Speyer, Deutschland - On December 17, 2024, nine trainees and three members of the youth and trainee representative (JAV) of the Stadtwerke Speyer visited the AWO senior house "Burgfeld" in Speyer. During the festive Advent season, they wanted to give the senior citizens and the nursing staff a special pleasure. Emilie Knörr, the chairwoman of the JAV, emphasized that the afternoon was very enriching for everyone involved. This exchange has shown how important it is to learn from each other and spend time together. With classic board games, the trainees not only brought entertainment, but also a lot of joy to the hearts of the older generation.

A highlight of the afternoon was the warm welcome that the young people learned from the technical and commercial areas of the municipal utility company. "We were welcomed so warmly, it all touched all of us," reported Jonas Gebhard from JAV. In addition to the games, a lot was told and laughed, which promoted the exchange between the generations. As a farewell, all participants received small gifts to capture the common memories. The campaign met with great response, and everyone agreed that similar projects should take place regularly in the future in order to further strengthen the dialogue between young and old, as the Speyer Stadtwerke reported.

connection between generations

The commitment of the municipal utility shows how important it is to build bridges between the generations. Such initiatives not only promote understanding and respect, but also the well -being of everyone involved, which is of great relevance in today's world. This is also underlined in a further context by the city of Speyer, which tries to be positive together by senior citizens, which can be found on their website.
