In Ludwigshafen, an exciting photo lecture will take place on Thursday, October 10th, which will draw attention to new, invasive species. The experienced photographer Barbara Schlote will alternatively be a lecture on the Asian hornets and the Nosferatus scenes in the Café, which is located at Rohrlachstraße 76 in the Hemshof district. Entry to this event is cheap with four euros.

Schlote has documented and observed the changes in the domestic fauna for years and observed how the global transport of goods and traveling animals from distant countries settle in Germany. These so -called neobiota often come to Germany unnoticed in luggage or as blind passengers. In particular through climate change, many of these species find an ideal living environment in Germany.

The immigrants of nature

This type of spider, named after the famous vampire film character, not only arouses interest, but also concern with regard to the effects of invasive species on biodiversity and domestic ecosystems.
