The 39-year-old, who has been at the top since 2015, was celebrated on Thursday evening at a gripping general meeting. "Getting 100 percent of the votes fulfilled me with gratitude and pride," beamed Beiner after the triumphal result.

The meeting, led by Honorary Chairman Wolfgang Wittmann, was not only a festival for legs, but also a stage for fresh faces. Birgit Stauder and Alexander Weih were unanimously elected to equal vice chairman. The newly formed board is also supplemented by Karin Leidig as a member representative and eight other assessors.
