First inpatient hospice in Nassau opens its doors to the guests!

An important step in the care of serious people: The first inpatient hospice will be opened in Nassau in the Rhein-Lahn district next Saturday. From January 2025, the first guests can be welcomed there, such as "https://www.swr.de/swraktuell/rheinland-pfalz/koblenz/erstes-hospiz-hin-lahn-kreis-in-nassau-100.html"> swr . After years of engagement of the hospice association, it has now been done - with eight modern rooms, in which relatives can also spend the night, the hospice offers a place where people can die with loving accompaniment. A special highlight is the "space of silence", in which works of art by the Boppard artist Aloy's Rump, which were donated to the facility.

donation financing and obstacles

The completion of the hospice was not without challenges. Whether theft of electrical cables or the general contractor's bankruptcy - there were repeated setbacks. Dr. Martin Schencking, chairman of the association, emphasizes that every square meter of the hospice has been financed from donations and that thanks to the support of numerous donors, there is now a reality. Despite all the adversities, the hospice will now open on January 2, 2025 and will be an urgently needed contact point in the region. Visitors can get a picture of the facility on the open day from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

In addition, the 6th Nassau Hospiz Charity Run was recently held, which recorded a record with 321 participants and many spectators. This event, such as Hospiz Nassau , was a great opportunity to run for the good cause and donate. Dr. Schencking thanked the participants and sponsors who help with their support to create a place where people can be accompanied by dignity. The lively participation, including the youngest, shows the great support for this important project.
