The 67-year-old electrician was unanimously elected chairman and thus follows the committed Renate Vogl, who led the committee for six years. Mayor Markus Zwick praised the merits of the senior advisory board, which has been active for 25 years. "We owe a lot to the older fellow citizens," said Zwick and emphasized the numerous projects that were implemented with passion. This includes the introduction of the plus community sister and the creation of the network 60 Plus, which act as contact points for the interests of the seniors. Zwick also announced the opening of new public toilets on Bahnhofstrasse and pedestrian zone, which are also accessible to seniors.The outgoing chairman Renate Vogl, who has already regulated its successor, sees the advisory board on the right track and is proud of the success that Pirmasens has achieved compared to other cities. Klys, who had been working on the senior advisory board for three years, brings extensive experience from various sports clubs and is ready to break new ground in order to actively involve the seniors into the community.
