Neuwied, Deutschland - A new wind blows in the Neuwied senior advisory board! Brigitte Neumann, who previously shone as a deputy, was unanimously elected as the new chairman and succeeds Werner Hammes. At her side, Hans Joachim Heckmann are the new deputy, Rüdiger Olschewski as secretary as well as the assessors Edmund Röttgen and Renate Hoffmann. Mayor Peter Jung, who has managed the senior advisory board in June since the city council elections in June, is enthusiastic about the fresh management team and the upcoming cooperation.

In retrospect for the past few years, Neumann emphasized the numerous initiatives that were launched under the old board to promote the participation of older citizens in Neuwied. An outstanding project is the new citizens' bus, which has been in operation since November 7th. This innovative offer enables mobility -restricted people to travel free of charge in the Neuwied urban area. The bus runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays and offers trips to doctor's appointments, for shopping or for authorities. "The Bürgerbus is a great example of how the senior advisory board can contribute to the mobility and quality of life of our older fellow citizens through use and cooperation with volunteers," emphasizes Neumann.But that's not all! The senior advisory board can look back on a large number of successful projects, including readings in cooperation with the city library, a senior podcast, the generation cinema and various information events. Mayor Jung praised the commitment of the old board and looks optimistically into the future: "I am sure that the new board will continue the path of constructive engagement and bring in new ideas. The work of the senior advisory board is invaluable for our city." With this strong team, the senior advisory board will continue to fight for the interests of the older generation in Neuwied!
