Passion games 2025: Rieden's traditional event returns!

The preparations for the traditional passion games in Rieden are in full swing. This cultural event, which takes place in the parish church of St. Hubertus, has a long history and will be performed again in 2025 after a break of eight years. From March 8 to April 20, 2025, a total of 21 performances are on the program that address the life and suffering of Jesus Christ. The last appearance took place in 2017 and is still in good memory.

The first performance of the passion games in 1923 was an initiative of the Rieden men's singing association. The expansion of the parish church was financed with the income from these performances. This shows not only the cultural, but also the historical importance of the event for the community. Now, exactly 100 years after the premiere, a similar atmosphere is created: helpers are already in the process of setting up wooden panels and other materials for the stage, while the Passion choir is eagerly rehearsing. The tickets for the performances are already available in advance.
