Horst Lichter about comeback chances with Johann Lafer: Is that possible?
Horst Lichter, the well-known moderator of the ZDF program "Bares for Rares", has now spoken about a possible return to his roots as a TV chef. The native North Rhine-Westphalia, who also became known for the audience with his Austrian colleague Johann Lafer, leaves the question of whether the two iconic cooks could do a common cause again. In a conversation, Lichter expressed his views on the future of cooking on television and explained what could prevent him from a comeback.
During his time as a cook, lights moderated the successful cooking show "Lafer! Lights! Delicious!" Between 2006 and 2017. The ZDF broadcast this and enjoyed great popularity because the duo could not only improve through its culinary skills, but also with its humor. In recent years, however, Lichter has been completely focused on “bares for rares”, which finally led to speculation about his farewell as a TV chef.
The reasons for the withdrawal as a cook
Horst Lichter said that his retreat from cooking was not only related to the show itself. In an interview, he expressed that he was in parallel with "Lafer! Lights! Delicious!" also stopped with five other television programs. "If I have the feeling that the time has come to stop with something, I stop with it," said the moderator. Johann Lafer had also regretted in the past that the cooking show ended. He attributed the decision on Lichter's numerous other engagements.
But lights still breathe the spirit of cooking and is not fundamentally against a return. In his last statements he explained: "Suddenly everyone cooks - and it only gets louder and crazy. I'm out of that." His passion for cooking remains, especially if the concept is right. "Should someone come up to me with a really good concept today, I would probably rethink it again," emphasized Lichter.
Horst Lichter and Johann Lafer: A possible new beginning?
The two former culinary partners agree that it "Lafer! Lights! Delicious!" could still be given today, the show would have been continued. While Johann Lafer is still active as a cook on television, he recently had a new cooking show on Sat.1, while lights focused more on “bares for rares”. Fans can look forward to a special Christmas special of the flea show on Christmas Eve, which is broadcast at Prime Time at 8:15 p.m.
Away from the television cameras, Lichter enjoys traveling on his classic car motorcycle and was currently celebrating his 15th wedding anniversary with his wife Nada. He revealed that her relationship began anything but romantic that gives an interesting insight into his personal life.
The future as a TV chef remains uncertain, but Horst Lichter shows itself open to suggestions-where this trip could lead will show the time. More information on this topic can be found in a detailed report on www.fr.de .
