Hoffnungshaus Ingelheim: New residential project for integration and diversity!
Fichtenweg, 55218 Ingelheim am Rhein, Deutschland - Ingelheim faces a revolutionary turn in housing construction! From 2025, the impressive “Hoffnungshaus” project in the Fichtenweg in Ingelheim-West will be realized. Around 27 apartments are created here that offer space for around 100 people. The special feature? Half of these apartments are rented to refugees, while the other half is reserved for people without escape experience. A brave step to combat the urgent lack of living space and to strengthen social cohesion!
"We create flexible and socially acceptable living space, which is currently only available in Ingelheim," explains Ralf Claus, the mayor of the city of Ingelheim. This future-oriented project is supported by the Hoffnücker Foundation and Boehringer Ingelheim, who pull together with the city and the Mainz-Bingen district. Dr. Fridtjof Traulsen, CEO of Boehringer Ingelheim, emphasizes: "We are pleased to promote similarities and communities and to be able to live a respectful coexistence."
an innovative living concept
The "Hoffnungshaus" will not only offer a roof over the head, but also a platform for integration and community. People with and without refugee experience will live under one roof, supported by professional social work and language education. "Integration only succeeds in a living society," continued Claus. The HoffneGunger Foundation already brings successful concepts from Baden-Württemberg to Ingelheim, where integration is made at 32 locations.
The construction costs and the property are taken over by Boehringer Ingelheim, while the city of Ingelheim and the district of Mainz-Bingen bear the operating costs. "Integration can only succeed as a community performance," emphasizes Steffen Wolf, first deputy of the district of Mainz-Bingen. The completion of the residential units is planned for 2026, and the modular, sustainable construction methods not only promise a quick establishment, but also an appealing living environment with common rooms for encounters and exchange.
