CDU Rhineland-Palatinate: New survey brings over 2,100 votes!

The Rhineland-Palatinate CDU is at an exciting change of course! After an important state party conference, the party launched a comprehensive survey to hear the votes of its 34,000 members. General Secretary Johannes Steiniger, who was talking to the German Press Agency in Mainz, emphasized: "We sent a letter to everyone for the first time after the state party conference. We wanted to reach everyone!"

In the letter, which includes the presentation of the new party leader Gordon Schnieder (49), the "swarm intelligence" of the members is tapped. Steiniger explained: "We want to know what drives you? How do you see the top candidate?" The response is overwhelming! So far, over 2,100 feedback has been received. "There is so much potential for experience and ideas with our members, we want to raise and use that," enthused Steiniger. Some members even call him directly on their cell phones to tell their thoughts. "In this respect, we work step by step towards the campaign for the state election."

new momentum for the CDU

The state party conference in Frankenthal was a milestone at the end of September: Schnieder was elected as the new chairman without opposing candidates, while Steiniger received more than 90 percent of the vote as Secretary General. This fresh leadership leads a breath of fresh air to the CDU and is determined to actively involve the members into the political process. The party relies on close cooperation and wants to incorporate the ideas of its base into the upcoming election campaigns.
