Fraudsters in Mainz: 87-year-olds loses 2,600 euros to brazen perpetrators!
Mainz, Deutschland - Mainz-On December 6, 2024, an 87-year-old woman was the victim of a brazen fraud in a bank branch. The unknown perpetrator used the manipulative fraud of the so -called "Shouldersurfing" to distract the elderly woman and steal her bank card. As she took money, the man spoke to her several times and claimed that the ATM was defective. At an unobtrusive moment, he grabbed her bank card and picked up a total of around 2,600 euros on a vending machine. The woman only noticed the theft when she wanted to apply for a new card at her bank a few days later and was informed about the unauthorized withdrawals, such as Bild.de reported.
The perpetrator, described as about 1.85 meters tall and dressed with a black jacket and a black cap, is previously unknown. Now the police from Mainz remains dependent on information. Anyone who has relevant information on the case can contact the Mainz 3 police inspection on 06131/65-34350 or by email to pimainz3@polizei.rlp.de, as presseportal.de . The brazen stitch again illustrates how important it is to be vigilant in bank branches and not be easily distracted.
