Circle withdraws: Hochstraße Nord and Neue Helmut-Kohl-Allee!
Ludwigshafen, Deutschland - The Rhein-Palatinate district surprisingly withdrawn its lawsuit against the controversial high-road project in Ludwigshafen! This happened after an oral hearing on November 7th before the Higher Administrative Court (OVG). The district originally expressed concerns that the noise would make the working conditions in its district house, which is only 25 meters away, through the demolition of the Hochstraße Nord (B44) and the construction of the Helmut-Kohl-Allee.
In his complaint, the district not only called for compensation for possible damage, but also the takeover of the district house property by the city of Ludwigshafen. But the state of Rhineland-Palatinate and the city rejected these demands. They argued that the new Kohl-Allee would even reduce the noise pollution for the district house. The decision to withdraw the lawsuit could also be related to the planned relocation of the district administration to Schifferstadt, which is now being sought for 2028
New location in Schifferstadt
The district administrator has already caught the eye for a new building on the former site of the riot police in Schifferstadt, near the main train station. The move could set the course for a new era in the Rhein-Palatinate district, while the old district house in Ludwigshafen is to be offered for sale. Removing the lawsuit is a significant step in this process and shows how quickly the situation can develop.
