Customs controls in Koblenz: minimum wage violations and more uncovered!

The financial control undeclared work (FKS) of the main customs office Koblenz on November 12, 2024 carried out a large-scale control in the freight forwarding, transport and logistics industry- and the results are shocking! At three locations, Koblenz, Mainz and Trier, over 270 employees were examined. The questions focused on the actual employment relationships, some of which seem highly questionable.
In total, the customs officials have uncovered 58 facts that now have to be examined more closely. Particularly alarming: Around half of these cases indicate blatant violations of the minimum wage regulations! But that's not all. There are also severe suspicions regarding the prevention of contributions, violations of foreign law regulations and even abuse of performance. Suddenly it becomes clear: the dark side of the industry cannot be overlooked!

The terrifying results also include nine criminal proceedings that were immediately initiated due to violations of the right of residence. The controls of the FKS once again show how important monitoring in these critical sectors is.
