Bundeswehr receives mobile data centers for digital operational capacity

Koblenz, Deutschland - The Bundeswehr relies on the latest technology to increase its operational capacity. As part of the project "German Mission Network Block 1" (GMN 1), the Bundeswehr has now signed an important contract with BWI GmbH. The aim is to provide relevant, modular and scalable data centers for missions abroad. These data centers enable the quick and defaultless exchange of information between the various sub-struts and with NATO partners, which is exactly the type of interoperable IT services that are required in multinational missions, such as Cityreport reported.

The relevant data centers are not only a technological progress, but also an indispensable element of modern military infrastructure. They expand the previous inpatient data centers and create a logical unit that will benefit the Bundeswehr military operations on the digitized battlefield of today and tomorrow. In addition, the agreement will also include the connection to existing data centers as well as test and training systems, which represents a comprehensive improvement in the entire military IT infrastructure. The funding takes place from the special fund of the Bundeswehr, which was recently approved by the budget committee of the German Bundestag, as bundeswehr.de in addition.

Security and efficiency for military company

The strategic importance of this new IT infrastructure for the defense capacity of the Bundeswehr cannot be emphasized enough. With the innovative solutions developed under GMN 1, a secure, contemporary and efficient operation in the military context is guaranteed. These building blocks are crucial to meet the increased requirements for digital systems and to raise the entire military operational strategy to a new level. The Bundeswehr thus takes another step towards the future and to strengthen its operational skills.
