Hiking paradise Palatinate: The best excursion tips from our readers!
On Sunday organized by the Rheinpfalz, 15 enthusiastic participants came together to explore the beauty of the Palatinate Forest. Günther Arndt from Ramberg gave the first tip: "A hike from Ramberg to Mastersel Castle is an absolute must!" This castle, which was extensively restored by the end of 2020, has developed into an impressive destination from a "sleepy Sleeping Beauty". The hikers agreed that the nearby Ramburgschenke, which has been open again since the beginning of 2024, offers a culinary highlight - "lots of passion and passion" and "really good food" promise the tenants!
insider tips and culinary discoveries
The talks during the hike only gotten from recommendations! A popular destination was the cherry rock, which can be easily reached by the Forsthaus Annweiler. The group stopped in the Landauer Hütte, where they warmed up and collected other excursion ideas. Andrea and Marco from Göllheim raved about the Kriegsberghütte, which is open on Sundays and offers a breathtaking view of the Donnersberg. Another insider tip: the Göllheimer Häuschen, a historic inn near Kerzenheim, which many did not yet know. Bettina from Münchweiler also recommended the steam noodles at the Lambertskreuz - a pleasure that should not be missed!
winter break for many huts
The hikers also discussed the best excursion destinations for the coming months. The Kupferberghütte near Imsbach is currently during the winter break, but the participants agreed that they should remember this place for spring. Further recommendations such as the Trifelsblickhütte near Gleisweiler and the Igelbornerhütte near Winnweiler were also mentioned. The anticipation for the upcoming hikes is great and the Palatinate still has many secrets to offer!
