New high school in Rheinzabern: Musical education for fifth graders!

Rheinzabern, Deutschland - A new high school with musical flair sees the light of the world in Rheinzabern! In the coming school year, the first fifth graders will be taught in the rooms of the integrated comprehensive school, while the plans for a new building are already in full swing. Matthias Wolf, the head of the five -member planning group, announces: "We expect three fifth classes." The school will focus a special musical-cultural focus, including an orchestra class in which the students can learn brass or string instruments. The demand for musical education is great, because many primary schools already offer string classes!

"We also committed ourselves to the flag lived," explains Wolf. The students should be actively involved in school life and learn to take responsibility. A class council will form the smallest unit, while a student parliament is planned in the medium term. "It is important to introduce young people to democratic structures early on," emphasizes Wolf. In addition, a focus is on nature experience and environmental awareness. The IGS Rheinzabern has free rooms due to declining number of students, which are now used for the first vintages of the new high school.

new building at a rapid pace

The students of the second year are temporarily taught in containers until the new building is completed. School head Christoph Buttweiler gives an optimistic outlook: "If everything goes great, we can welcome the students in the new building in 2030/31." The district presses the pace to quickly implement the plans. A general contractor is commissioned to make the construction work more efficient. The new building is to be built in modular construction, which saves time and costs. The total costs are estimated on a "double -digit million sum", with the majority of the district being borne.

In the long term, a fourth high school is planned, which will offer an all -day offer from the start. A new cafeteria and a sports hall are also being planned. The existing IGS facilities can be used until completion. The first teachers have already been determined and the school management position is still open. The district council gave the starting signal for this future -oriented project in March to relieve the existing high schools in Wörth and Germersheim.
