Kirchheimbolanden, Deutschland - Kirchheimbolanden this year remembers with a particularly formative celebration: On Saturday, November 9th, the 50th commemoration will take place at the Reichspogromnacht. The "Working Group Peace Days" invites you to a moving event on the historic synagogue forecourt - a place where memories of the Holocaust come to life.

In the middle of starting speeches of top -class guests from church and politics, the state representative for Jewish life and anti -Semitism is expected. This commemorative event takes place exactly 86 years after the fateful night from November 9th to 10th 1938, which is the prelude to the largest genocide in Europe. The then existing synagogue in Kirchheimbolanden, which was demolished in 1941, will also take a central place in the memories of those present.

A very special highlight of the commemoration will be the multimedia installation "Out of the Dark" by the video artist Reinhard Geller , which is projected onto the gable wall in the Hussarenhof. With an impressive visual language, Geller wants to point out the absurdity that people make life difficult for each other with unimaginable effort. His goal: promoting empathy, cooperation and solidarity in a world that is often shaped by conflicts. However, if the weather does not play along, the event takes place in the neighboring Paulskirche.

The dunning event begins at 6 p.m. on the Synagogen forecourt and stands as an impressive sign against forgetting and for a life -affirming society. In Kirchheimbolanden, the story is not pushed into the background, but urgently recognized.
